<p style="text-align: justify;">To most of us, our understanding of a balanced diet means that we need to consume a bit of everything in order to obtain proteins, minerals, vitamins and carbohydrates.  Therefore a balance diet may need to consist such foods as eggs, meat, rice or bread, milk and vegetables.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">However, since ancient times, the Chinese physicians have always advocated consuming beans, grains, vegetables and fruits.  Eggs, meat and dairy products should not be taken as the main items to feed on and instead should only be used to flavor dishes.  There were many long years of doubts and disbelief in this concept by most people but they are now beginning to notice the wisdom of consuming such foods.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The ancient Chinese says that we have to eat intelligently to make sure that the food will create harmony in our body.  If our body conditions become disharmonious or unbalanced, illnesses can occur.  The correct diet plan is an important aspect of <a href="http://www.1naturalhealing.com">natural healing</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Hence, to the ancient Chinese, a balanced diet has different meanings:</p>
<p>A balanced diet of different flavours</p>
<p>Our food consumption should consists of food with different flavours, energies and organic actions.  Our diet must contain varieties of flavours – sour, pungent and bitter. For example, we must not consume only sweet and sour flavours and exclude the other types of flavours as we will end up courting trouble for our body.<br />

A balanced diet conforming to our needs and physical constitution</p>
<p>The food that we choose and consume must conform to our needs and physical constitution.  If our body is a yin, the recommendation is to consume more warming food.  If it is a yang, then more cooling food should be taken.<br />

<p>We should consume food that can help us in maintaining the harmonious balance of our internal organs.  Having a good appetite does not really mean that our heart is strong.  If we experience a feeling of burning sensation inside the stomach, it basically means that we have excessive heat in that area.  In this condition, it would be detrimental  if we were to consume spicy food or liquor.  However consumption of cooling food can help in cooling down a hot stomach.<br />

<p style="text-align: justify;">Diet and Cancer</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Just like drugs alone cannot heal cancer, a correct and balanced diet alone may also not really help much in the healing.  However, a correct and balanced diet is crucial as it can help in determining the direction and progress of healing.  Unfortunately, the role of nutrition becomes only that of improving comfort and pretty much nothing can be done for  advanced stages of cancer.  The correct and balanced diet for cancer patients are similar to the ancient Chinese concept of a balanced diet which is:</p>
<p>Whole grains, nuts, seeds and cereals – a much as possible in an unprocessed form<br />
Fresh fruits and vegetables<br />
Fruit juices<br />
Avoid dairy products and meat<br />
Avoid white sugar, table salt and cooking oil<br />
Avoid all canned, preserved and processed food.</p>

<p>Ask ten random people if stress is a psychological disorder, and you&#8217;ll probably get ten affirmative responses.</p>
<p>Conduct the same experiment with ten psychiatrists, ten psychologists, and ten stress management experts, and you&#8217;ll likely get 30 more &#8220;yes&#8221; responses.</p>
<p>But what if all 40 of these responses were actually wrong? Would that surprise you? Would it shock you? </p>
<p><b>Stress Is Not A Psychological Disorder</b></p>
<p>While it may appear that stress is primarily a psychological disorder.it is not.</p>
<p>Stress is actually a philosophical disorder. And while philosophical disorders often resemble psychological maladies, they actually arise from a different source. They arise from having a whole bunch of very poor philosophies.</p>
<p>For example, if you are a proponent of the philosophy that life is a &#8220;dog-eat-dog&#8221; competition, and the only way to rise to the top (and be happy) is to trample anyone who gets in your way.you&#8217;re going to have lots of stress.</p>
<p>If you hold tightly (and with strong conviction) to the belief that your favorite personal theories about life are 98% true, and that there&#8217;s very little chance you could ever be wrongguess what? Yep, you&#8217;re going to have loads of stress in your life.</p>
<p>And if you are a very manly man, and you believe women are the &#8220;weaker&#8221; sexoh my, are you in for a whole heap of trouble!</p>
<p><b>How Good Are Your Personal Philosophies?</b></p>
<p>The examples above all represent very poor philosophies. They are deficient because they don&#8217;t connect with reality. If you try to live by these philosophies, thinking they will help you succeed and be happy, you&#8217;re going to be let down. </p>
<p>This is not a psychological disorder, like severe depression, severe anxiety, psychosis, or multiple personality syndrome.</p>
<p>Instead, it is needlessly suffering from bad personal philosophies!</p>
<p><b>Think About This.But Be Careful!</b></p>
<p>Take a few moments to reflect upon how good, or bad, your personal philosophies might be. But be very careful when conducting this type of inquiry. </p>
<p>You see, thinking about anything in life is largely determined by your personal philosophies! </p>
<p>So if you&#8217;ve got any faulty ones inside you, they may keep you from honestly and accurately assessing this whole philosophical arena.</p>
<p>I wish this wasn&#8217;t so, but after all&#8211;we&#8217;re all human beings.</p>
<p>And to be human means, among other things, that whether we know it or not, ultimately we are all philosophers.</p>
<p>How happy, healthy, confident, and successful you are in life will be largely dependent on the quality of your personal philosophies. So, too, will be the amount of stress you experience. </p>
<p>That&#8217;s because stress, at its roots, is primarily a philosophical disorder. It can affect any individual, whether or not they have a true psychological disorder.</p>

<p>While there may be numerous programs on how to lose weight, understanding how to lose weight by running is one of the best and natural ways. The reason why running remains popular is that through sweating, it induces you to drink more water. Water is the solvent of life in nature that helps to flush out toxins in your body. When you heat up during running, your body sweats to cool your body down thus releasing toxins through the sweat.</p>
<p>We don&#8217;t usually take in more water when we are not involved in physical activity. Running forces us to take in more water and drinking a lot of water is important for weight loss efforts. Running also increases our heart rate that pumps more oxygen through the blood to other organs including the brain. That is why they say sport helps us have an active mind.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, time constraints are a problem for people trying to lose weight by running. The busy lifestyle of many people today makes it almost impossible for them to stick to a routine program of running. Allocating time for work and family is a problem for most people and fitting in extra programs may be a problem. But think about the health benefits and the value of investing that time in running. You must squeeze in some time for it and do it on a daily basis if you can. Other wise run for at least three times during the week. Running can make you healthy and save your life.</p>
<p>If you are living a sedentary lifestyle, make sure you watch your weight. If you cannot lose weight by running, do consider other methods. Remember the risks involved in being obese. Watch your Body Mass Index and makes sure it falls within the normal healthy range. Being obese not only increases health risks but it makes you less attractive. You know that and you only have to commit some time to running to avoid it.</p>
<p>Of course there are many other methods to lose weight but to lose weight by running cost you nothing. It is one of the best ways as it improves your overall health and burns fat fast if you do it all the time.</p>

<p>In persons with Multiple Sclerosis, the body&#8217;s own immune system attacks the central nervous system, destroying the insulating myelin and forming scars on the white matter of the brain and spinal cord.The word &#8220;sclerosis&#8221; actuallymeans sacrs, plaques and lesions. This affects the brain&#8217;s ability to communicate with the spinal cord. Various neurological symptoms appear, leading eventually to physical disability, cognitive disability and neuropsychiatric disorder. The symptoms may have slow onset, progressing with time, or may come as sudden attacks that relapse with symptom-free periods in between.</p>
<p>Among the many symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis are paresthesia, spasticity and urinary problems. Paresthesia consists of unusual skin sensations such as tingling, tickling, itching and burning. This is due to peripheral nerve damage. Spasticity means having spasms. These spasms also affect internal organs. In fact, spasms in the bladder cause the urinary problems such as hesitancy, urgency, frequency and incontinence.</p>
<p>The cause of Multiple Sclerosis is not known and neither is there any known cure. Medication has proven to be ineffective, with adverse side effects. Palliative treatments can only attempt to alleviate symptoms, delay if not prevent attacks, relieve the discomforts of symptoms an attacks, and delay if not prevent disability.</p>
<p>A study published in 2003 in the Multiple Sclerosis journal of the Multiple Sclerosis Center at Sheba Medical Center in Tel-Hashomer, Israel showed that reflexology significantly improved symptoms of paresthesia and spasticity, as well as urinary problems, of patients with Multiple Sclerosis. The study was done by I. Siev-Ner; D. Gamus; L. Lerner-Geva; and A. Achiron, staff of the Department of Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Complementary Medicine Clinic and the Multiple Sclerosis Center at Sheba Medical Center; and the Gertner Institute for Epidemiology and Health Policy Research.</p>
<p>Seventy-one participants of the study were randomly divided into two groups. The first group received 45-minute reflexology massage therapy treatments weekly for 11 weeks, concentrating on specific reflexology points on the feet and calves. The second group also received 45-minute treatments weekly for 11 weeks, but it consisted of non-specific massage of the calves, only providing touch and relaxation.</p>
<p>The patients were assessed before the 11 week study, at the start of the study, on the sixth week of the study, at the end of the 11 weeks, and three months after the end of the study. Paresthesia was assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale. Urinary symptoms were assessed using the American Urological Association symptom score. The strength of the iliopsoas, quadriceps, hamstrings and adductor muscles were assessed using the British Medical Research Council scale. Spasticity was assessed using the Ashworth scale.</p>
<p>By the end of the study, the reflexology group showed significant improvements in paresthesia, urinary symptoms and spasticity; and borderline improvement in muscle strength. Three months after the study, the group still showed significant improvement in paresthesia. The control group, on the other hand, showed no significant improvements in all areas. </p>

<p>The Exercise ball is one of the best and unique fitness tools that is out there today. It is also one of the least utilized pieces of equipment. Aquilino Cosani, an Italian engineer, first manufactured the ball to be a toy back in 1963. It wasn&#8217;t until a physical therapist, Mary Quinton, utilized the ball for children with neurological disorders. The exercise ball did not make it to the US until the 1970 and it seems that the general public is just starting to get aware of its benefits.</p>
<p>What makes the Exercise ball so effective is that it forces the user to use many stabilizing muscle to balance while performing the exercise. This means that more muscle fibers are firing, you are burning more calories and because of the position that you are usually in, it puts a lot of emphasis on your core (rectus abdominis, lower back, transverse abdominis, internal and external oblique&#8217;s.) And everyone seems to want to have tight abs.</p>
<p>The reason why I wanted to write this article was for one of two reasons. </p>
<p>To hopefully motivate to try the exercise ball the next time at the gym or to try an exercise on the stability besides crunches. That is what I meant when I previously stated that this was one of the most least utilized pieces of equipment at the gym. The exercise ball happens to be one most dynamic pieces of equipment at that gives you a huge range of exercise options.</p>
<p>One example would be a basic squat. Position the exercise ball between your lower back and the wall. Move your feet out about 8 to 12 inches. When you squat you want three 90 degree angles. These 90 angles are at your hips, knees and ankles. Your shins and upper body is to be perpendicular and your thighs parallel with the ground.</p>
<p>If this sounds too easy add dumbbells for weight. </p>
<p>If adding dumbbell weight is still too easy, extend one leg out and perform single leg squats. There are few people that I know who have the leg strength for this exercise.</p>
<p>A pushup is another exercise that there are multiple options that can per formed with an exercise ball. You can perform this exercise with your hands on the exercise ball and feet on the ground. Added difficulty would be to place your feet on a bench and keeping your hands on the exercise ball.</p>
<p>You can also place your hands on the ground and feet or knees on the exercise ball. To add difficultly you can try diamond push-ups or traveling push-ups. Traveling push-ups is where you move side to side while performing the push-up. You start by doing a normal push-up and then at the top, move the left hand to the right. The right hand then goes out further to the right. You would perform another push-up and move back to the left by moving your right hand to the left and then the left further to the left.</p>
<p>These are just two small examples. There are many, many more. I would like to invite you to do some further investigation on this and try a few of the exercises out. There are thousands of examples out there. The benefits will be a stronger core, possibly quicker weight loss and make your body more functional and less prone to injury.</p>
